I just wanted to touch upon the importance of keeping your pet friends hydrated. It is going to be another hot weekend and our pets need water to stay hydrated. While humans have many different liquids to drink and can help themselves, our pets depend on us to make sure they have water. Keep water outside for them at all times if your pets are in the yard and don’t have access to water from in home. If you are taking them for long walks make sure to bring water with you for just not them but for yourself.
A few tips on finding out if your furry friends are dehydrated would be:
- Pick up their fur in a tent like form, let it go does it drops quickly or does the tent stand still. If it stands still they are dehydrated. If it drops the they are hydrated.
- Look at their gums are they pink and wet? Then their good and hydrated, but if their pink and gummy or dry they need water now… Just a few little things to look at as we are in the hot summer months and we want to keep our furry friends cool and happy in doors and out.
If any one has any good tips for our furry friends in the summer please leave comments…
Hey yall! I hope everyone is having a good day. I just wanted to speak to the pet owners that get frustrated with their pets trying to “train” them. Everyone take a deep breath and know that it takes time for pets to learn new commands and tricks. Be patient and try to keep things in perspective. Make sure that when you are trying to teach them, it is always a good experience for them. This will build trust! Repeat and reward good behavior.
Hello animal lovers! It is going to be another hot weekend around the bay area, so please remember to keep our pets hydrated. They depend on us to keep them hydrated with fresh water. Have a great weekend!
This is for everyone that wants to talk in an open and friendly forum about any pet related concerns, ideas, or general thoughts. So, this is my first endeavor into an open forum like this. So please be kind! Or NOT!
My opening will be the Bully breeds. Pitbulls, StaffordshireTerrriers, Pocket Pits and everything that has to do with them! We all know about their reputations and we all have opinions. But do we have all the facts? I have my opinion, but do I have all the facts?
I have had a few different breeds of dogs in my life and have handled almost all other breeds in my line of work. So many different temperaments have passed before my eyes, I start to see human behavior. Maybe that is a little weird or awkward, but it is true. I have two pits. one is a Staffordshire and one is an American Bully. Ever since meeting these two beautiful Lady PIts, I have been fascinated by the general publics concerns. Here are my 2 thoughts.
1. (And most important to me) Owner Responsibility! Come on people, our pets depend upon us to do the right thing by them and the general public so that no persons and no animals get hurt.
2. Genetics. If you do not know yet, aggressive behavior can be bred in to and out of any breed of canine. If done correctly, it can take around three to four years, depending upon what you are working with.
What are your thoughts and ideas on this subject. Don’t be shy!
